Volpi is a provider of fiber optic and LED illumination components for use in machine vision, microscopy, forensics and medical diagnostics. Another main focus of Volpi's activity is the development of fiber optic sensor components for customized applications. With locations in Switzerland and the United States of America, Volpi has an outstanding development and production infrastructure. The optical fibers used for the production of fiber optic light guides are drawn at the fiber drawing facilities in Auburn,NY. As one of the very few companies in the industry, Volpi is familiar with both winding and randomized techniques for extremely thin glass fibers. Because they were also an early entrant in the development of illumination components based on light-emitting diodes (LED), the hybrid solutions constructed by Volpi represent an absolute highlight of the industry. In hybrids, the advantages of both technologies are united to form an optimum solution, depending on the application. Volpi’s goal is to provide their customers with high-quality illumination and sensor components for their activities, or to support them in the development of their own products.
