Sensor Tasks

Most physical and chemical properties can be measured using a fiber optic sensor system. These include temperature, pressure and stress as well as the humidity or the presence of different gasses. We specialize in the project planning of sensor applications that cannot be managed with a fiber optic standard sensor. The following provides a few examples of applications using special fiber optic sensor technology.

Colorimetry

Colorimetry is attaining a greater importance in many branches of industry. Colors must be precisely determined in order to ensure consistent product quality. Using other devices, color tones can be precisely measured with the help of a sample and then reproduced for other purposes.

Sensoraufgaben (Farben bestimmen)

Inspecting Surfaces

The surface inspection is the traditional task of industrial image processing. In nearly all branches of industry, surfaces of all types have to be inspected as part of the quality assurance process.

Sensoraufgaben (Oberflächen inspizieren)

Identifying the Composition of Media

The main task of spectrometry is to identify substances in a liquid, gas or solid state. This task can often be realized with the help of a fiber optic sensor system.

Sensoraufgaben (Zusammensetzung von Medien identifizieren)

Measuring speed/rpms

Fiber optic sensors are often used in testing benches to measure the rpm and speed of motors.

Geschwindigkeit / Drehzahl messen (Rennauto)

Measuring temperature

For many applications and production products the temperature must be measured in a contact-free manner using fiber optic sensors.

Sensoraufgaben (Temperatur messen)

Detecting fluids

Leakages can be found by means of fiber optic sensors. Particularly when it comes to hazardous substances, the advantages of a fiber optic sensor system become most apparent.

Sensoraufgaben (Flüssigkeiten melden)

Detecting fire/smoke/temperature

Fiber optic sensor systems work along along their entire lengths and reliably detect temperature increases, fire or even smoke. This also allows the exact location of the hazard to be determined.

Sensoraufgaben (Feuer / Rauch / Temperatur melden)

Detecting movement/torsion/damage

Glass fibers can be built into certain materials. If the material structure changes due to mechanical factors, this also affects the refraction of light in the fiber optic sensor system, and the damage is signaled.

Sensoraufgaben (Bewegung / Verwindung / Beschädigung melden)
