The duct in the breast is opened by applying light pressure.

After opening, a diagnostic guide wire is inserted to prepare the canal for additional dilation with the cannula and to ensure stable guidance.

After inserting the diagnostic guide wire, the cannula is applied over the guide wire to expand the canal.

After removing the cannula, the endoscope is inserted in the canal that is now prepared.

During the biopsy procedure, a tissue sample is removed and placed directly in a test tube with formalin for the purpose of conservation for later analysis in the lab.
