Volpi develops, produces, and maintains optoelectronic modules for instruments with applications in molecular diagnostics and immunodiagnostics for both central laboratory and POC use, for microbiology and hemostasis, and for instruments used in clinical chemistry.
Core areas are fluorescence-based detection methods using PCR in genome analysis and for detection and quantification of viruses and bacteria in bodily fluids, ELISA-based test procedures for detection and quantification of protein markers and pathogens, and spectrophotometry and spectroscopy.
Another key area comprises applications in clinical chemistry using detection methods based on photometry, reflection, colorimetry, luminometry, and chemiluminescence.
